Physics Annexe (Building 6) - new level and fitout construction

3 Nov 2017

Construction is ongoing to add a new level to the Physics Annexe (building 6).  Access around the building is limited. See the location plan (PDF, 45KB) for more information.

When

  • Start: 23 November 2017
  • Finish: 31 August 2018

Project details

This project will deliver close to 1000 square meters of new modern functional space on top of an existing building.  The Faculty of Science will be relocating from their current home in Building 69 (level 3) into this new space.

The build is composed of two main parts:

  • construction of the new external level
  • fit out of the newly created space.

A crane has been erected on site. Once the exterior shell is weather-tight, the crane will be removed from site and the interior fit out part of the project will commence, likely reducing impacts to the precinct at that point.

The  crane is expected to be removed by the beginning of May 2018.
