Child Care Centre Keith Street project

30 Jul 2018

July 27 update

The planned development of a new child care centre is part of the University’s commitment to supporting the career progression and development of staff and students with families.

A fenced work site has been established in the open grassed area situated north of P7 carpark, east of Keith Street, and west of Playing Field 8.

As part of the early works four trees will be removed. The University has received the necessary Brisbane City Council Natural Assets Local Law (NALL) approvals. A wildlife spotter has been appointed to identify any existing wildlife to ensure their welfare and relocation if required.

As part of the NALL requirements the University will also implement a replacement planting program of 41 new trees on the St Lucia campus.

The tree removals are scheduled for Monday 6 August 2018. Feedback can be forwarded to the UQ Project Manager, Mr Steve Warfield at s.warfield@uq.edu.au.
