21 Nov 2018

In preparation for the start of the Semester and to help maintain our beautiful University environment, Property & Facilities Division (P&F) are asking that all staff participate in a general campus clean up/de-clutter.

When

  • Start: Monday 19 November 2018
  • Finish:  Friday 23 November 2018

Clean up details

We have a shared responsibility for maintaining a safe, tidy and productive working and learning environments at UQ. This includes reviewing common spaces and identifying opportunities to de-clutter, tidy or dispose. This could include:

  • removing items from trafficable spaces such as pathways, building entrances, stairwells and corridors,
  • looking for opportunities to optimise the use of space and improving the safety and aesthetics.

P&F is supporting our campus clean-up by providing skip bins for the removal of large items between 19-23 November.  Following the success of the campus clean-up in February we will be now providing extra skip bins, 13 on the St Lucia campus and 2 on the Herston campus.

  • You must take into account health and safety regulations for manual handling, so if you have large items that you need assistance with, please log a job in Archibus via your Archibus Nominated User. We will then arrange assistance from UQ’s approved contractor, We Move All.
  • The skip bins are to be used for General and Comingled Waste only – no Hazardous waste.  See the Guide to laboratory and animal waste disposal.
  • Please ensure when using the skip bins, you pack items to maximise the volume of the skip.
  • Consider items for recycling (e.g. paper, cardboard, ewaste).

Skip bin locations are listed below or see this map showing the locations.
