St Lucia Campus road closure

The UQ Twilight Running Festival will be held on the St Lucia Campus on Sunday 28 April 2019 and road closures will be in place to ensure the safety of guests and the UQ Community.

Affected Areas

  • Sir William Macgregor Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic from 12pm to 8pm. The road will be closed from the roundabout at Sir Fred Schonell Drive and Campbell Road (the roundabout itself will not be closed) through to the intersection of Sir William Macgregor Drive and Thynne Road.
  • Access to upper Campus via Campbell Road, University Drive and Blair Drive will only be possible from Sir Fred Schonell Drive.
  • Access to College Road and Conifer Knoll Car park from Upland Road will be unaffected by this closure.
  • Access to Mill Road carpark and Multi-Level carparks will be unaffected.
  • During the event, cyclists will be required to walk their bikes across the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. 
  • Any vehicles parked in the event area will be unable to move once the restrictions start and will need to wait until 8pm to access and/or move their vehicles.
  • Translink Bus access to the UQ Lakes Bus stop will be unaffected.

Traffic Controllers will be on-site for direction and advice. Please obey all signage and directions to ensure personal safety and safety of visitors attending this event.
