Recreational Precinct

The works are continuing in the Recreational Precinct, located near Playing Field 7 on Sir William MacGregor Drive.

When

Work details

Completed projects include:

  • an extension to provide three beach volley ball courts;
  • 3 x 3 basketball half courts;
  • four multi-use courts; and
  • five river fitness stations, located along the river running track, for low impact exercise.

Works that are nearing completion are:

  • the all abilities playground is 80% complete, and will include:
    • various swing sets
    • 40m zip line, toddler climbing frame
    • 5-15 years climbing frame with slides
    • sand pit
    • dry creek bed
    • dinosaur dig
    • sensory play equipment
    • pathways
    • shelter and amenities (with a kiosk for event days, toilet facilities, PWD toilet, PWD accessible BBQ and a security help point)
  • the UQ Community Garden, which will include:
    • a shelter and amenities (with PWD toilet, a PWD accessible BBQ and a security help point)
    • accessible pathways
    • planter beds
    • a water feature
    • a UQ sculpture.
