Chilled water shutdown

There will be an isolation of power to the chilled water system which supplies the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (75)Chemistry (68) and Molecular Biosciences (76) buildings as part of works to install a new chiller.

Affected areas

  • Air conditioning will still be operating but there will be limited cooling.
  • The chilled water pumps in the Chemistry (68) and Molecular Biosciences (76) buildings will continue to circulate water.
  • The Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (75) building will have no circulating chilled water for an hour.

When

  • Start: Friday 18 September 2020
  • Finish: Friday 18 September 2020
  • Times: 6am to 7am

Work details

  • The new chiller arrives on 13 September 2020. This second shutdown on 18 September is to make the final control connections to the new chiller.

Project details

  • This is part of a project to replace and end-of-life chiller and increase the chilled water precinct capacity to meet high summer air conditioning loads.
