Automatic door testing across all of UQ sites

Please be advised, there will be an automatic door inspection and service occurring this month and continuing into April. These works are occurring across many different UQ Sites, please forward to whomever it may concern

When

Start date: Monday 14 March

Finish date: Friday 8 April

When: Between 6:00am and 3:00pm (refer to the attached program for specific details)

Where:

  • St Lucia
  • Herston
  • Long Pocket
  • PACE
  • Toowong
  • Logan
  • Gatton
  • Hervey Bay
  • Rockhampton
  • Toowoomba

Work Details

  • Visually inspect all sensors and sample points for any condition, which is likely to adversely affect their operation, such as excessive sunlight or fluorescent lighting. Isolate equipment to allow safe access to carry out mechanical and electrical inspection and servicing of equipment. 
  • Check the operation of the installed operator and detectors.
  • Check the operation of all ancillary control facilities and ensure that each control device can be correctly initiated according to its intended function
  • Check operation of all manual call points. Check all power supply by disconnecting all power to operator, including the age and efficiency of the battery back-up supply.
  • Visually inspect control indicating equipment for evidence of deterioration
  • Check for any building, alterations, changes in environmental conditions or utilization of the protected are, which would necessitate modification to the detection or operating systems.
  • Complete service report for each piece of equipment.  Service report will detail finding and any work and adjustments that have been carried out as well as any repairs that need to be completed.
  • Equipment will only be returned to service if deemed safe for continued use.

Automatic Doors Inspection and Service

  • The minimum standards for periodic maintenance and inspection for the Auto Doors and associated equipment is to be undertaken within a four (4) month period from the date of commencing this contract as specified in the following Australian Standard AS 5007 – 2007.

This inspection will be undertaken by UGL.
