Please be advised there will be power shutdowns to perform RCD testing undertaken by Stowe Australia. This is a requirement under the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
When
- Start: Wednesday 16 March
- Ends: Thursday 17 March
- Times: 6am to 8:30am
Affected Areas
- Andrew N. Liveris Building (46), level 3 & 10
- Level 3 comms room will be testes on Wed 16
- Level 10 comms room will be tested on Thurs 17
Work details
RCD Testing
- Loss of power supply to power outlets (RCD testing) from 6.00am to 8.30am (barring any failures) – except for 23 July.
- The work will involve loss of power to power-points, other equipment (including computer servers) and lighting.
Please ensure to turn off computers or other electrical devices when there is a power outage
- The loss of power will be for approximately 10 to 20 minutes.
If non-conforming devices are found, the power outage time may increase due to the time required to replace the defective device.
NOTE:
Sensitive Equipment
- If there is any sensitive equipment, or specific procedures to be followed, in the buildings in this month’s schedule, please notify us immediately.
- Please note that should there be sensitive equipment or specific procedures UQ is obliged to provide a representative to assist with testing.
- Stowe are not liable for any damages to sensitive equipment where they have not been notified of requirements related to that equipment.
