Crane Establishment at Plant Growth Facility

The Plant Growth Facility on the corner of Glasshouse Road and Services Road will be establishing a tower crane on the northwest corner of the project site.

Work details

Friday 22nd April 2022

  • 12:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Establish road closure on Glasshouse Rd for crane material delivery
  • Loading and unloading of semi-trailer with tower crane components
  • Establish mobile crane in preparation for crane installation the following day
  • Impacts
    • Traffic Controllers will be in place to coordinate traffic to the International House car park and subject to impact due to truck delivery.
    • Traffic Controllers will be in place to coordinate traffic to the glasshouses and subject to impact due to truck delivery.
    • Access to the UQ Warehouse B99 will not be impeded

Saturday 23rd April 2022

  • 6:00am to 6:00pm
  • Establish exclusion zone for erection of crane as per the site plan
  • Ongoing delivery of crane components for assembly
  • Lifting and installation of all crane components
  • Impacts
    • Glasshouse Rd will be closed for the duration of the crane erection
    • Access into any areas within the exclusion zone will be prohibited at all times

*Should the crane erection be delayed, the Contractor will re-mobilise on Sunday the 24th of April 2022 at 6:00am and the exclusion zones and access impacts be implemented as per the exclusion zone site plan.

Project details

The Plant Growth Facility (PGF) project will provide world-leading research facility that will contain an array of highly technical controlled environment rooms, capable of replicating a variety of environmental conditions to simulate natural conditions in a controlled and measurable manner. The facility will also include a glasshouse on the roof deck for further plant science research capability.
