Construction works have commenced for the UQ Lake Renewal and Amphitheatre Upgrade Project. The Site location and impacts to pathways, roads and bicycle lanes are shown on the attached site map.
Affected Areas
- Pedestrian and cyclist pathways are closed for the entirety of the works. Refer attached map for alternative routes.
- There will be an increase in noisy works near the amphitheatre due to demolition and site clearing activities, including:
- demolition of existing footpaths (including excavator and demolitions saw); and
- demolition of existing staircases and rock retaining walls (including excavator hammer and demolitions saws).
- Construction vehicle movements/deliveries will noticeably increase around College and Thynne Roads and also at Jocks Road.
