UPS testing in St Lucia, Precinct 3

Please be advised, there will be 6 monthly UPS testing to Precinct 1 and 2 at St Lucia Campus as per preventative maintenance program attached.


  • Start: Tuesday 17 May 2022
  • Finish: Thursday 9 June 2022
  • Times: 6:00am to 3:30pm

Work details

  1. UPS static bypass operation check.
  2. External bypass operation check. (Where exists)
  3. UPS on-load test as follows. (With load connected to UPS)
  • Monitor battery string voltage, if okay continue otherwise check individual cells to determine faulty unit.
  • Isolate mains.
  • Monitor battery string voltage and record voltage and time.
  • Cease test immediately if battery failure detected, otherwise continue to test until battery voltage is at 105% of UPS manufacturers low voltage threshold.
  1. For multi battery string UPS’s: -
  • Isolate one string at a time.
  • Measure individual cell voltages.
  • Remove external load.
  • Measure individual cell voltages.
