Permit parking

I work at the Herston campus and have a part-time permit. Can I change the days on my permit?

To change the days on your permit, you will need to cancel your current permit and apply for the one you require. If there is a waitlist active, you will need to apply via the waitlist in vPermit and wait until a permit becomes available.

I work at the Herston campus and need a parking permit. What should I do?

The Herston campus staff car permit car park (OHC car park) has limited capacity and the permit allocation has been exhausted. The waitlist in vPermit will be active from 6 July 2020. You can apply via the waitlist after this time.

Once you are on the waitlist, you will be automatically notified when a permit becomes available.

I have a full-time permit, but will be returning to the office part-time. What are my options?

You can:

  • retain your full-time permit if you think you will require it in the near future
  • cancel your current permit and apply for the one you require. If the permit allocation has been exhausted, you will need to apply via the waitlist and wait until a permit becomes available
  • cancel your full-time permit and use casual parking to only pay for what you use.

Can I purchase a pre-paid permit?

Yes, you can purchase a pre-paid permit. To do this, log in to vPermit and apply for the permit you require.

If you don't have a vPermit account, you'll need to create one by selecting the 'Sign up' option. Remember to add your UQ username (if you have one) to your profile after signing up.

I will be returning to the office week on/week off. What can I do with my permit?

You can either:

  • retain your full-time permit, or
  • cancel your full-time permit and use casual parking to only pay for what you use.

If you cancel your permit and require one in future, you may need to apply via the waitlist in vPermit and wait until a permit becomes available.
