Road Closures: UQ St Lucia Graduations July 2023

This year's St Lucia July graduation ceremonies, including set up and pack down, will take place from Sunday 25 June to Saturday 15 July 2023.

To accommodate the graduation ceremonies, please find important information about road closures and campus access restrictions.

Road closures

To facilitate setting up and ensure the safety of visitors, the following roads will be closed to traffic:

  • Great Court ramp (from Mansfield Place) – closed from Sunday 25 June to Saturday 15 July. A number of car park spaces in Mansfield Place will be reserved for suppliers.
  • Union Road – closed from Tuesday 11 July to Friday 14 July. If you are expecting deliveries during this time, please organise alternative arrangements or contact UQ Principal Events Officer, Leila Hutton.
  • P10 UQ Centre Car Park – limited parking from Tuesday 11 July to Friday 14 July. Reserved parking will be cordoned off to accommodate graduation suppliers, UQ Union complex tenants, UQ Sport and Health Services tenants, and clients. 
  • Campbell Road – closed from Tuesday 11 July to Friday 14 July. Alternative accessible parking bays are located in University Drive, Slip Road and Staff House Road.

UQ Security will be on site managing the closures.

Accessible parking

Alternative accessible parking bays are located in Mansfield Place, University Drive, Slip Road and Staff House Road. For more information see accessible parking at UQ.

Affected areas 

Graduation ceremonies will be held in the UQ Centre (27A) followed by post-ceremony celebrations in the Great Court.

Events and functions are not be permitted in Campbell Place, the Great Court or on the Forgan Smith Lawns between Sunday 25 June to Saturday 15 July.

We also ask that you please reduce any noise and avoid unnecessary vehicle movement in and around the affected areas during the graduation ceremonies.
