Parking Time & Other Restrictions

  1. UQ staff will be able to charge their EVs and remain in the designated parking bay for as long as their carpark permit/fee allows them, however the rate of electric charging may be reduced or turned off at times depending on UQ’s electricity demand management priorities.
  2. Parking bays for the program are marked with green hatching and “Electric Vehicle Charging Only” signs. Only EVs are allowed to park in these parking bays.
  3. Charging EVs while parking in bays adjacent to the designated bays for EV charging is not permitted, even if this is physically possible.

Safety & Other requirements

  1. Before entering the parking bay, you must ensure you do not run over, park on, or otherwise damage any charging cable that has been left on the floor/ground.
  2. Before using an EV Charging Station, you must inspect the EV Charging Station to confirm it is in working order and that there is no apparent damage to it.
  3. If you find or suspect any damage to the EV Charging Station, you:

You must not overstretch the cable as this may result in damage to your EV and/or the EV Charging Station.   After initiating your charging session, you must make sure the cable is closely aligned in parallel to your EV to avoid any safety hazards.
  3. Once your parking time and charging session have finished, you must wind the cable back into its holder or around the EV Charging Station to avoid any safety hazard or other vehicles running over it.
