Crane Lift: Building 69 & Surrounding Buildings

Please be advised there will a crane in place Saturday 22 April through Sunday 23 April on the northern and southern sides of Building 69 to accommodate the required roof replacement of Building 69. This will mean traffic management will be in place to safely divert pedestrians in and around the exclusion zone while works are in operation.

  • Times: 5:00am to 5:00pm

Work details

  • All Level 2 entries and exits to Building 69 and Building 67, and those north facing from Chemistry and Sir William MacGregor will be managed by the Lead Contractors Traffic Management program. Traffic Management will be in place to ensure pedestrian traffic can still pass through when the crane is not in operation.
  • No personnel are to enter/exit the building while the crane is in operation, unless in the case of an emergency
  • Passage through to Phizz from Mansfield Place will be restricted
  • Passage to Yumantra through Coopers Rd will be restricted
  • Heavy machinery and vehicles will be travelling through the Northern and Southern travel routes as highlighted above
  • Concrete pump truck will be in use
  • Excavator will be used for trenching and tree relocations on both northern and southern sides
  • Roof sheeting and equipment will be lifted onto the roof of Building 69
  • Sunhoods will be removed on Building 69
  • Major noisy works will be conducted as concrete hobs are removed on Building 69

Project details

Project will include:

  • Replacement of the roof membrane and roof sheeting of Building 69
  • Installation of new flashing, capping and drainage channels across the roof / northern and southern facades
