On-campus child care, early learning centres and kindergartens are available to UQ staff and students. On-campus facilities are run independently to UQ, and you should contact them directly for more information.

St Lucia

There are several on-campus day care, kindergarten and early learning centres at St Lucia for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years. 

The following providers are located on St Lucia campus:

  • Campus Kindergarten (for children aged between 2 and 5 years)
  • Margaret Cribb Early Learning (for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years)
  • Munro Centre (for children up to school age)
  • Playhouse Parent and Child Care Centre (for children up to school age).

Several providers at UQ also offer vacation care during the school holidays.

Off-campus facilities are available in surrounding areas.

Gatton

Free Range Kids Gatton is the only childcare centre and kindergarten on Gatton campus. It accepts children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.

Vacation care

UQ Sport

UQ Sport at St Lucia campus provides a fun and active care service during school holidays for big and little kids, aged 5 to 14 years. Kids are encouraged to be fit and active, while having fun and making friends.

Playhouse Parent and Childcare Centre

From January 2020, Playhouse Parent and Childcare Centre is offering vacation care for school aged children. Vacation care programs include activities to cater for all children, from sporting enthusiasts to artists and bookworms.

Each holiday period, Playhouse will also offer excursions to locations like the cinema, theme parks, ice-skating rinks, or mini golf.

Sessions run from 7.30am to 5.30pm and cost $58 per day, with a reduced fee if you have been approved for a childcare subsidy.
