Please be advised the lift in McElwain Building (24A), St Lucia Campus, will be inaccessible while it is replaced and upgraded.
UQ Property and Facilities kindly request your cooperation while we complete this important lift modernisation, improving reliability of the lift and accessibility to McElwain Building.
Impacts
The lift will remain out of service for the duration of the works. The works involve dismantling and removal of some existing lift equipment, installation of new landing doors, and associated infrastructure upgrades.
A portion of the works will involve drilling and cutting. There may be some noticeable noise for shorter periods during the works. Where possible, noisy works will be undertaken in the early morning between hours 06:00am - 08:30am.
Impacted Areas
McElwain Building (24A) Lift, lift machine room (501), portions of hallway areas immediately adjacent the lift doors on all floors.
Contractors site storage area will be located in the McElwain Car Park.
When
The McElwain lift replacement will commence 3 October 2023 and run until approximately February 2024. Works will be undertaken Monday – Friday, 6:00am - 5:00pm.
