Facade Replacement Works: Centre for Advanced Imaging (57) lookahead

The Centre for Advanced Imaging (57) forms part of the UQ Façade Replacement Program. As part of these works the cladding on the CAI building will be replaced.  This notification provides a lookahead for the upcoming works and important changes to access to and around the CAI building during this time.

The cladding works to CAI are expected to continue until August 2024.

Upper Roof

  • Cladding Replacement:
    • Scaffold demolition ongoing.
    • Strip of scaffold and movement of materials on roof may cause noise below.

6am – 5pm

South Façade (Building Main Entry)

  • Cladding Replacement:
    • Intermittent noise from drilling and hammering.
    • The building entry will remain accessible during weekday working hours. Works above the entry will be completed on the weekend.

North Elevation

  • Laneway between CAI and Gehrmann is closed for the duration of this project.
  • Scaffold Build:
    • Scaffold will be built to the North Elevation, west of the link bridge, will be built in late November.

All Day

East Elevation

  • Pedestrian pathway remains open for now, however will need to be closed in future when works are underway above.
  • Deliveries lifted onto gantry above loading dock. Majority of these deliveries to be completed before 8:30am where possible
