Facade Replacement Works: General Purpose South (78) lookahead

The General Purpose South (78) cladding replacement works are ongoing and the notification below provides a fortnightly lookahead for upcoming disruptive works.

This cladding project is expected to be complete in June 2024.

Courtyard (Northern) Elevation

  • Cladding measures and commence strip of existing panels.
  • These works may create some noise for building occupants during removal of panels.

6:30am – 5:00pm

8 January 2024 - Ongoing

Lakeside (Southern) Elevation

  • Scaffold build to the south-east elevation to be finalised during w/c 8/01/24.
  • Scaffold build to south-west elevation (above the level 1 entry) will commence from 10/01/2023.
    • Gantry Install – Entry and lakeside footpath will be closed for the whole day to install a gantry (to allow for future public access during works). A spotter will be stationed at the exit to ensure clear pathways are available in the event of a fire / evacuation in the building. Refer to Figure 1 for details.
    • Scaffold Build – Level 1 entry will be open however there will be intermittent closures to the walkway while scaffold is delivered to the gantry. These works will be noisy due to scaffold being erected.
    • The undercroft area at Staff House Rd will be closed during the scaffold build to provide laydown space for the contractor’s equipment, refer to Figure 2.
    • There may be intermittent impacts to the AEB loading dock for deliveries – to be confirmed with stakeholders.
