The UQ Centre cladding replacement works are ongoing and the notification below provides a lookahead for upcoming disruptive works.
The cladding replacement works to UQ Centre are expected to be complete in May 2024.
Lookahead Timeframe: 8 January 2024 – 31 January 2024

West (North Union Road) - Complete install of panels and rectification of defects.
- Scaffold dismantle will commence on the 22nd of January which will have impacts on Union Rd. Full / partial road / footpath closures will be in place for this period of time. Vehicles that need access to the top of Union Rd / Union Complex will be allowed access. Refer to Figure 1 for more details.
- Scaffold dismantle will create noise.
West (UQ Centre Entrance) - EWP access to panels above Exhibition Hall double doors required. These doors will be closed while these works take place.
- These works are expected to be noisy due to drilling / grinding / saws
West (South Union Road) - Continue removal of remaining panels and install of subframe / panels. Intermittent disruption to bathrooms, pathways, lift and lecture theatre entrance.
