Parking permit types
Permits are required to park in some areas at UQ campuses and sites.
Many permits are for staff only, but certain permits are available to students, visitors and UQ corporate partners.
Permit parking zones are marked by signs. See parking maps to check where permits are required. Motorcycles and mopeds must park in the orange zone at all times.
Disability, special needs and infancy carer permit parking is also available at all UQ campuses and sites for students, staff and visitors.
Applying for a permit
Apply for a permit through vPermit. You must make sure the vehicle you’re driving to campus is active on your permit.
UQ staff, including staff of UQ-controlled entities and UQ Union, can apply for parking permits across UQ campuses and sites.
Continuing or fixed-term staff can pay upfront (prepaid) or fortnightly through salary packaging (ongoing). Casual staff must pay upfront.

Part-time staff permits
Part-time permits are only valid on the nominated active permit days.
Part-time permits will be available until 30 June 2025, while the University reviews parking across our campuses.

Corporate partners (St Lucia only)
Corporate partners can apply for a permit at UQ St Lucia. These permits must be approved by the Chief Operating Officer or a delegated authorised person.
