You must get approval for any buses and coaches to park, or pick up and drop off passengers on campus.

If there are more than 3 buses, you must meet additional safety requirements.

Requesting approval

How to request approval for bus parking depends on whether you're from UQ or another organisation.

If you're organising an event on campus, you also need to apply for approval for your event. Make sure you request approval for bus parking at least 2 weeks before your event.

UQ organisational units and on-campus colleges

UQ organisational units and on-campus colleges should follow the process for hiring charter buses. Bus parking will be allocated as part of this process.

Charter buses

External organisations

External organisations, including schools visiting campus, should email the Security Events Officer to request approval for bus parking.

In your email, include:

  • your organisation name
  • the details of your visit to UQ
  • date and times
  • number of buses
  • bus size (e.g. minibus or larger).

The Security Events Officer will allocate bus parking for your visit in UQ's booking system and send you the details in a confirmation email.

Multiple buses

If you need more than 3 buses on campus at the same time, you must meet additional safety requirements, including:

  • using approved entrance and exit points
  • staggering arrivals to avoid creating obstructions or hazards for other drivers or pedestrians.

The Security Events Officer will send you the full requirements.
