Parking at St Lucia
Parking is available at our St Lucia campus for students, staff and visitors.
You must pay to park from Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm. Outside these hours parking is free. Parking options include hourly and capped daily rates, and permit parking.
Parking is also available at the Toowong office for staff.
Look for the signs to check the zone and which rates and conditions apply.

Green zone
- Permit parking
- Restricted to staff and others with a permit.
Blue zone
- Open-air spaces
- Furthest from the centre of campus
- Park for up to 14 hours
- Hourly rates capped at a daily maximum.

To claim student or staff rates, you must use the CellOPark app. Go to 'My Profile', select UQ as your 'Institute' and update the 'Student/Staff ID' field:
- Students: enter your student ID number
- Staff: enter your staff ID number or username
- Staff of UQ Union and UQ controlled entities (UQ Sport, JKTech, UniQuest, UQ College, UQ Health Care, UQ Residence): enter the UQ username associated with your affiliate account. If you don't have a UQ username, you'll need to apply for an affiliate account.

Persons With Disability (PWD)
You must clearly display the permit so the permit number and expiry date are visible from outside the vehicle. Find out more about accessible parking.

Electric vehicles
As part of our commitment to sustainable transport, we've installed electric vehicle charging stations. Some can be used by anyone in the community and some are restricted to UQ staff.
Toowong parking
- Park for up to 14 hours
- Hourly rates capped at a daily maximum.
Who can use it
- Staff allocated access to Toowong by PF Assist.

UQ fleet vehicles
UQ fleet vehicles can park in any zone, but must follow any other relevant parking rules.
Construction contractors and sub-contractors
Individual construction contractors and sub-contractors can park in blue, grey or red zones.
If multiple parks are required, liaise with your UQ project manager.

Service and commercial vehicles

Conditions
- Maximum 2 hours.
- Service and commercially registered vehicles can also use loading zones (maximum 30 minutes, unless otherwise signed).
- Construction contractors and sub-contractors cannot use these spaces.
Who can use it
- Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm: any service and commercially registered vehicles.
- Monday to Friday after 6pm: anyone with a valid UQ permit.
Rates
- Free.
Short-term loading vehicles
Find UQ's loading zones on the St Lucia service, commercial and loading zones map (PDF, 0.9 MB).
Conditions
- Maximum 30 minutes, including after 6pm and weekends.
- Do not use for collecting or delivering assignments or letters.
Who can use it
- Everyone.
Rates
- Free.
Reserved parking for events, clinics and guests
Staff can reserve parking for guests, clinic clients and event attendees.
- Guests of schools, faculties or centres: Book authorised visitor parking through the vPermit guest parking system. Fees apply and availability is not guaranteed.
- UQ clinic clients and guests of senior executive staff: Book a park in an authorised vehicle zone for free via UQ Book It.

Access to book reserved parking
If you require access to book authorised guests or clinic clients, complete the following forms and send them to transportsystems@uq.edu.au:
- PF630 parking system access form (PDF, 577.7 KB)
- for authorised visitor parking via vPermit, also supply a RISQ form (DOCX, 30.8 KB) estimating the total amount of permits that will be used in a year. Your area will be charged on a monthly basis for the actual amount used.
UQ student residents weekly parking
UQ students who live in colleges or residences at the St Lucia campus can start a weekly parking session via CellOPark for a capped rate of $27.50 per week. This is only available in the blue zone.
The parking session can be started at any time and will be active for 7 days. Once a session has been started, it can’t be cancelled or refunded.
