2. Before you apply
Before you apply, you'll need to consider insurance, risk management and safety.
Insurance and risk management
If you are a UQ staff member or UQ student organising an event for UQ staff and/or UQ students, the event will be covered by UQ’s insurance.
Student or staff event organisers need to:
- provide a UQ safe risk assessment ID (for staff to complete) or event management risk assessment (students to complete) (DOCX, 54.8 KB)
External event organisers need to:
- Provide event management risk assessment (DOCX, 54.8 KB)
- Consider and agree to the conditions of use disclaimer (PDF, 296.1 KB)
- Provide a copy of your own public liability insurance policy to the value of 20 million.
Health, safety and wellness
Events held at UQ must comply with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Queensland) to ensure the health and safety of everyone. Be prepared to adapt to changes to gathering/movement restrictions or the impact of severe weather to ensure the safety of attendees.
